Doing What You are Supposed to
Some will praise the ones who fight
And make a show of what is right
And wave a flag and stand alone
Or shout with songs or angry tone.
But not as recognized each day
Are those who choose to do and say
The normal good things tasked to each
And all obey what churches teach.
It may be cool to make a wave
But those at school or work can save.
Just showing up to do the thing
That only simple joy will bring,
Can add up over years of time
and clean the world of all its grime.
