Jesus said pray for your enemies, and gosh, I only have about 90 of those from my whole life. What about the other 3000 friends and acquaintances? For them to get something do they need to be someone’s enemy? Maybe all of us in the world can be frenemies. Enough love to get the prayers and enough hate for it to count as forgiveness. Just little slights, every day, some selfishness to boost everyone’s judgement day stats. Traffic anger, parking place greed, maybe some hints of lying, cheating, stealing, but man, some people are going too far with their role as a forgiveness opportunity. I mean maybe I can pray for someone else’s enemies, and they can pray for mine, and the lord’s prayer can catch the rest of it all, every day, millions of sins to keep our requests interesting enough for God, who sees it all without a waver or break to get a snack that was probably stolen from his lunch locker anyway, like how Sharlene stole three credit cards from my apartment during inspection. So there’s a prayer topic, if anyone wants it. I don’t. I want to pray for the 7 billion people who didn’t send me a Christmas card last year but did add their carbon dioxide to this world for the trees that mostly haven’t done anything rude, except wow, that cross wasn’t very nice.
